Software stops being written only by humans.
For twenty years, shipping software meant humans writing code. In 2026, that changed: agents now write, refactor, and compose more of the stack than any one engineer does, and the pace is still accelerating.
The tools we built for human code don't cover what agents produce.
Work arrives faster than anyone can read it. Decisions evaporate between sessions. Nobody can answer "why did we ship that?" once the agent moves on. AI is a mirror — it amplifies whatever was already there. The model is powerful. The system around it is missing.
Velocity without legibility. Automation without governance. Generation without operation.
The bottleneck stopped being how fast we write code. It became whether we can still tell what we shipped, to whom, and why. That's not a tooling gap. That's a category gap — there's no operating system for the work agents generate.
