The bet

Left the income in October 2025.

In October 2025, Lucas walked away from Chief AI Architect at Avenue Code to build Durante full-time. No salary, no safety net — only the conviction that Claude Code was the most powerful AI tool he'd ever used, and that what it lacked was not more capability but an operating system around it: memory that compounds, skills that enforce, gates that ship.

The practice

The archetype

The operator is the customer. The operator is the proof.

Durante's primary buyer is a software service provider — a shop delivering client work that clients need to trust. The operator is the person on the hook when software ships: commits the decisions, writes the memory, signs the receipts. The reference archetype ran the math first — one operator, the whole stack, every decision signed and chained. If it holds for one, it holds for a team of twelve. If it holds for an agency, it holds for the enterprise buyer that agency delivers to.
